Ambient Air Quality Service

Ambient Air Monitoring
Measurement of the gaseous and particulate matter in ambient air has been a specialty of SECOT staff since the company's founding. SECOT has developed, implemented and operated numerous ambient air monitoring programs that include the use of instrumentation to measure meteorological parameters continuously, and to measure gaseous and particulate pollutants continuously and on individual sampling events. Our air monitoring programs are operated with approved quality assurance procedures and trained personnel to measure and report in a timely and accurate manner.

SECOT maintains a large inventory of ambient air and meteorological sampling equipment and the trained staff necessary to provide complete ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring services. SECOT has capability to measure ambient criteria pollutants including Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, Ozone, Total Hydrocarbon, Total Particulate matter and Respirable Particulate Matter (PM-10), toxics and meteorological parameters.
In addition to collect criteria pollutants on media for subsequent laboratory analysis, SECOT also use real-time monitors for continuous measurement of gaseous pollutants as well. The concentrations of these criteria pollutants are monitored using automated continuous air quality instrument that have EPA designation number and are routinely calibrated to ensure high degree of accuracy. Other services SECOT provides in ambient air testing include QA audits (system and performance audit for ambient air quality monitoring station), data processing and reporting.
Air Toxics
Ambient monitoring of hazardous air pollutants is a specialized subset of general ambient air monitoring requiring high resolution of compound, low threshold analytical detection limit and pollutant specific sampling methodologies. SECOT utilized sampling method including canister sampling or adsorbent sampling for air toxics and employ our subcontract laboratories for analytical efforts.

Meteorological Measurements
SECOT utilizes high quality sensors for measuring the parameters listed below. All sensors interface directly to datalogger :
l  Wind Speed : cup propeller
l  Wind Direction :  vanes that use
    precision patentiometer
l  Solar Radiation : Silicon cell or
    thermopile pyranometers
l  Air Temperature : thermisters,
    thermocouples, or RTD
l  Relative Humidity : Capacitive sensors
l  Precipitation : tipping bucket rain gages
l  Datalogger
l  Barometric Pressure : capacitance or
    stain gage pressure transducer
Related services include : Audits (system/field performance) Meteorological Systems, Site Selection, Tower, Sensor Installation, Calibration & Maintenance, Data Management and Packaged Meteorological Systems.
Air Quality Modeling
SECOT has the staff, computer hardware and software, and experience to conduct air dispersion and deposition modeling in support of air quality assessment studies and to help clients to make informed decisions.

SECOT use the latest available EPA models to perform modeling analyses. SECOT's modeling staff are throughly familiar with EPA modeling guidelines, modeling techniques and statistical modeling requirements.

SECOT maintains a database of recent surface meteorological data for all vital weather stations and emission database for certain industrial area in Rayong, Cholburi and Samutprakarn.
